SOORARAI POTTRU UHD WALLPAPERS- PART 2
Director Sudha Kongara Prasad shot to fame with her film Irudhi Suttru, which featured Madhavan and Ritika Singh in the lead roles. She is now awaiting the release of her upcoming film Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya, which is slated to hit the theatres during summer 2020.

Recently, the teaser of Soorarai Pottru released online and won the appreciation of critics and audience. In a recent interview to a Tamil magazine Vikatan, Sudha revealed that she wanted to make this film for the past 10 years. Soorarai Pottru is based on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath.

The filmmaker revealed that Suriya expressed his interest to produce Soorarai Pottru under his banner. "At first, I wanted the film to be produced by some other person. Suriya came forward to fund the film and said that no one should question you how much you are spending on the scene or ask you to change the scene. That's why I'm producing this film."

She also added that Suriya never hesitated to spend money on the film. "Hiring a flight for one day costs Rs 47 lakh. We have shot for several days with the flights and he never hesitated once," she remarked.

Sudha also revealed that she knew Suriya for several years now. "Every year, I go to Suriya's house to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan. On one such day, he asked me if I have a script in hand and that's when I gave him the half-completed script of Soorarai Pottru. I was shooting for my Telugu film then. After a month, I got a positive reply from Suriya," she stated.

Soorarai Pottru is jointly produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga. The film, which is currently in post-production, features Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Boman Irani in significant roles.

“I kept saying I wanted him (Suriya) to look leaner and he tried to convince me to go with his look back then. But I told him I wanted him to look even leaner. He kept joking that I’m making him to stop eating to get the look,” Sudha said.

The video shows Suriya working out like it’s no big deal. From sprinting effortlessly to doing pushups and burpees like he was born to do it, he makes everything look so easy. Talking about his look, the costume designer says he wears only four shirts and three trousers in the film. All his shirts were tailor-made to fit him perfectly.

Sudha says that he kept dropping weight at such a fast rate that the shirts became loose when they did a costume check two days before the shoot. When Sudha told Suriya that she wanted him to play the 19-year-old version of his character, he was taken aback. “I can’t play a 19-year-old,” Suriya told Sudha repeatedly.

It was a major challenge for Suriya, according to his trainer, to make him look two decades younger. The trainer said Suriya would start doing body weight training wherever and whenever possible. In between shots and breaks, he’d would be working out and continuing to lose weight.
