A number of people while training to get six pack abs, do tend to use artificial means to make the process faster and simpler. Things like fat burners and steroids are common. But according the actor stayed away from all that, because he wanted a natural body without harming himself in the process.

Suriya enjoys jogging too although he doesn't have the convenience of including it in his fitness schedule throughout the week. He loves doing yoga as well.

The Singam star "Suriya' believes in hard work and commitment to get the desired body and remain physically fit just like his fearless character in the movie which portrays the power of hard work, pride and truthfulness.

The six-pack festooned actor owes his physique to a routine, which is well balanced between workout and food. Also, he credits his father – Sivakumar – whom he grew up watching. “It helps that I grew up watching my father, who’s a stickler for fitness”, he says.

Suriya takes to jogging, swimming and a bit of yoga to sweat it out and believes that “yoga is a great way to work up a sweat while exercising in the comfort of your home”.

His diet is devoid of fatty eats like maida and fried food as they’re nothing more than calories and moreover, getting rid of them is also tasking. Apart from this, Suriya’s diet is healthy list of ‘yays’ and nays’.

“I’ve also almost given up rice; I eat just a few spoonfuls. I’ve also stopped meat for a year now. I substitute it with paneer and milk products for protein intake. I also eat a lot of vegetables and drink at least 2.5l of water a day as it helps keep the skin healthy.”

Alkhas Joseph, the personal fitness trainer to actor Suriya, who is (in a manner of speaking), responsible for the actor’s enviable six-packs agrees. “I get several inquiries from youngsters in the age group of 18 to 25 years, who call me for consultation in fitness matters. Of course, their topmost priority is getting a six-pack like Suriya in the shortest possible time. I try explaining to them that it’s not a cakewalk and that it takes several man-hours of hard work, coupled with stringent diet norms. Only then can you aspire to achieve the so-called chillesed look,” he says.
